Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters (Canada) Inc. is a registered charitable organization in Canada. The Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters (Canada) Inc. is a subsidiary corporation of the Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters, Inc. located in Virginia Beach, VA. The latter serves as the international headquarters of the Al-Anon Family Groups, which includes Alateen for younger family members. Our program is comprised mutual support groups with member facilitated meetings. More than 1,300 Al-Anon groups for adults and 88 Alateen groups for teens meet across Canada. Our program is worldwide with 14,000 groups in the U.S., and 10,000 in 130 other countries.
The Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters (Canada) Inc. does assist researchers and students pending approval of researcher's or student's projects. We are in a unique position to provide members as research subjects who can provide information about their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being, daily functioning at home and work before and since attending our program. Every three years since 1984, our office conducts a triennial Membership Survey of adult Al-Anon members. The results of our 2015 study are posted on our Web site, http://al-anon.alateen.org/membership-survey (13 percent of the 8,517 members were from Canada).
Provincial and local Al-Anon service arms arrange for members to provide services such as speakers, workshops, and literature to the public and professionals upon request.
