I am Ijeoma Obiajunwa-Ajiamah, Fellow – YALI RLC 2016, a multi award-winning Social Entrepreneur, Member, International Exchange Alumni, Member- IRC Abuja, Nominee, - UN Women Empower Women Global Champion for Change 2016, Public Speaker, Event facilitator and Consultant specializing in Social Entrepreneurship. Mentee, Cherie Blair Foundation. I am a Physiotherapist by profession and I've been running my own businesses for over 6 years. I operate a Sustainable Social Enterprise “Label” that coordinates other NGOs, CBOs, Social Enterprises and Core Limited liability Companies into a sustainable partnership for the implementation of the SDGs in Africa and beyond with the United Nations’ agenda 2030 as well as African Union’ agenda 2063 and I am also the Volunteer Manager; Global online firesidechat which is empowering women from 50 countries of the world weekly on financial literacy I am the Founder of the Markengee Group (Markengee Touchinglives International and Markengee Home for Orphans & Widows). Ijeoma is a member of African Women Enterprenuership Program (AWEP), Nigeria, an alumnus of the Enterprise Development Center (EDC), and one of the Top 100 Women entrepreneurs in the maiden edition of Cherie Blair Foundation’s Road to Growth programme. We empower women through Capacity building workshops. Through our weekly media rally and annual Community Outreach Programmes we have touched the lives of over 300 widows, and we are hoping to empower them with access to collateral free loans to enable them transact their businesses and be independent enough to be the best that they can be in life. The Organization is a civil society organization and Non Governmental Organization with zero profit. We work in line with inline with United Nations and also holds a consultative Status (Special) with UN-ECOSOC. The organization is accredited by UNDPINGO, UNDP, UNEP, UNODC, UNIDO, UNISDR, UNFCC, and observer to the Green Climate Fund (GCF) South Korea. The organization focuses on women, children, youths, elderlies, corruption, justice, climate, Disaster amongst others.

Mission Statement “Our focus is to assist Australian Governments, Communities, Schools, Sporting Clubs, Churches, Welfare groups and Service Clubs to rediscover the proactive and protective options of best practice prevention models in the alcohol and other drug arena. In so doing to present society, and the emerging generation (in particular), with resiliency developing, and viable prevention and demand reduction options, around alcohol and substance use and abuse.” In fulfilling this Mission we envision the following… “To shift the community and particularly adolescent, young adult and family attitudes about alcohol and other drugs away from the cultural expectation of participation, to consider the option of ‘not having to’. Through our Education, Advocacy and Resource process we seek to relevantly engage, educate and recalibrate cultural values through ‘Fence building’ processes including curriculum delivery, strategic partnerships and sponsorship of other proactive prevention based and resiliency building community strategies.” As a pioneering movement in this space, the Dalgarno Institute (Coalition Of Alcohol & Drug Educators) is a long standing Public Interest, not-for-profit organisation, and as such is committed to assisting Educators, Teachers and other Learning Facilitators, to have high quality, relevant and contemporary resources - giving them the opportunity to deliver the most effective resiliency developing, Demand Reduction and harm prevention alcohol and other drug (AOD) education program for their specific audiences. Our ongoing endeavour is to give the emerging generation the best possible opportunity to maximise their potential and minimise harms - particularly around AOD issues. The Dalgarno Institute seeks to empower, enable and equip proactive education and/or community focused organisations in assisting them to become resiliency investing, Demand Reduction and prevention focused change agents for the families and young people in their sphere of influence.

We work with the communities and other like minded parties to find solutions to issues affecting youth and women. Our interest is mainly on health; where we use a range of skills and approaches to do prevention alcohol and drug abuse.

CEDRO´s permanent organizational strategy includes the active participation of public and private institutions, schools, universities, grass-roots organizations, farmers, youth groups, churches, unions, businesses, local governments, armed and police forces, mass media, and international and foreign cooperation agencies, creating a concert of efforts to fight drug consumption.

I have medical and legal backgrounds and later in 2009 was awarded by MPA – Master of Public Administration in Public Policy. I have been trained and obtained several certificates like Project in Control Environment (PRINCE2), Results based Management (UNDP), Managing for High Performance (UNOHRM), Results and Teamwork without Authority (UNOHRM), Ethics and Professional Knowledge (UNOHRM), Communication and Standard Business Etiquette (UNOHRM), Social Policy Development (USAID), UNDP Procurement Process, Contract and Finance Management, HIV/AIDS Competence for UN Staff (UNAIDS), Basic and Advanced Security in the Field (UNDSS), Safety and Security Awareness (EUMM), Special Training (Interpol), Ethics Training (UNDP), Prevention of Harassment, Sexual Harassment and Abuse of Authority in the Workplace (UNDP) etc. In 2001-2009 I have worked as a Country Manager of the South Caucasus Anti-Drug (SCAD) programme funded by EU and implemented by UNDP. I managed, coordinated and administered 9 different multi-sectoral projects - Legal assistance, Border Management, Police intelligence, Prevention of drug abuse, Establishment of a drug use monitoring capacity, Forensic Labs, Treatment/rehabilitation in health sector and in prisons and NGO networking. I had several international assignments in Central and South Asia. I supported elaboration of national drug strategy and action plan for Georgia. I assisted several UNODC missions to Georgia.
