The New Milford Substance Abuse Council is one of many local substance abuse prevention councils in towns all over Connecticut. The Council is a coalition of individuals and representative from community agencies in New Milford, including the New Milford Public Schools, New Milford Youth Agency, New Milford Police Department, and New Milford Hospital. The goal of the New Milford Substance Abuse Council is to reduce the use of drugs and alcohol by New Milford’s youth and reduce the harmful effects of substance abuse on youth and families. The Council focuses on helping youth and families to prevent substance use and abuse by offering positive alternatives for youth and prevention strategies for parents.
