Tempt teenagers with exotic alcohol-free 'mocktails'

With the news that the 300 year-old UK magazine Tatler is hosting a high-profile, alcohol-free proms celebration in London for school students, this article discusses how best to prevent teenage drinking. The event will apparently be serving a range of alcohol-free 'mocktails'. We have previously covered the debate of supervised alcohol consumption at home, against prevention of all adolescent drinking. Interestingly, a bar owner and a drinks manufacturer both report growing interest in traditional 'temperance' drinks such as sarsaparilla, ginger beer, cream soda, plus new exotic mocktails such as sparkling rhubarb and rosehip, elderflower and bramley apple, and lime and lemongrass.
