This extensive annual survey examines trends in illicit drug use from 2010 to 2011 and from 2002-2011 among Americans 12 and older and compares differences by age group and gender.
US annual survey showed that the number of people aged 18-25 who used prescription drugs for non-medical purposes in the past month declined 14% from 2010 to 2011, and rates of alcohol abuse also declined. (2012 Report)
This new slant on first use of licit and illicit substances highlights interesting variations in monthly patterns, such as marijuana, alcohol and tobacco showing initiation highest in the US summer months of June and July.
