I am a prevention educator at the Addictions Care Center of Albany, INC. (ACCA) and go to almost all of the Albany county elementary schools teaching children and adolescents our An Apple A Day program, as well as Too Good for Drugs program for fifth graders, Grow Girl, Boys Only, Strong Families and etc. I teach these students about self-esteem, safe person, safe place, communication, goal-achieving, who good friends are and about making healthy choices for their mind, body and soul, which introduces how alcohol, nicotine, prescription drugs and more harmful drugs that are bad for your health. I find that all this information is important to know and to keep your loved ones informed that they have safe people and places in their life to go to when needed. We have a ton of events each year involving other foundations, sheriffs, police departments and other social institutions and would love to be apart of a foundation involving in helping children and adolescents in communities throughout the world. We also administer CASAC workshops through OASAS in regards to counseling those going through treatment and recovery, as well as informing children, adolescents and parents about addiction. I showed my supervisor your foundation and she was thrilled about what an amazing foundation Mentor Foundation and know of a few local companies who are mentors as well and are involved in Mentor International. We look forward to hearing back from you and look forward to great opportunities ahead involving both of our companies and foundations.
